Living close to Epping Forest is wonderful for dog walkers, but it can also mean pets coming home with more than muddy paws. If you have noticed bites, scratching or flea dirt in an Epping home, we can treat the property thoroughly and show you how to stop fleas returning after our visit.
We treat the surroundings as well as the animal, because that is where most fleas are. You will be told what to prepare, how long to stay out of treated rooms and when we will come back to check for newly hatched fleas.

Woodland and open land are home to deer, foxes, rabbits and other wildlife, and fleas can pass from animals to dogs and cats during walks or in the garden. A pet that spends time outdoors near the forest will pick them up now and then. The key is catching it early, before eggs spread through the house. Epping dog owners will know how often this happens.
Regular flea treatment for the pet, recommended by your vet, is the first line of defence, and we strongly encourage it. Checking the coat after walks, especially around the neck and base of the tail, helps too. If fleas do get indoors, they settle quickly into the places your pet sleeps and rests, and the home then needs treating as well. Do not leave it for weeks, as numbers climb quickly.

Epping has an older high street and many period properties, often with timber floors, gaps beneath skirting boards and rugs laid over boards. These details are charming, but they give flea eggs and larvae plenty of cracks to sit in, where vacuum cleaners struggle to reach. We pay special attention to these edges and to any under-floor draughts. Standard vacuuming alone rarely reaches them.
In an older Epping home we treat carefully, working along floor edges, under furniture and across soft furnishings, and we advise on what can be washed, what should be vacuumed and what needs to stay put. Nothing is rushed. If the home has several levels or a loft room, we check them all. Just tell us what is precious to you before we start.
Dormant pupae mean a few fleas may appear after treatment, so a follow-up visit is part of the plan. Keep vacuuming, keep bedding clean and keep your pets protected. We also cover Loughton, Harlow and Brentwood, and our work in the CM16 postcode around Epping is the same careful job whether the home is a cottage or a modern flat.
We cover towns and villages across Essex. Choose your area to see how flea control works locally.

Fleas are small, fast and surprisingly persistent, but a calm and thorough routine, plus professional help when needed, will clear them from your home.

Most household pests leave clues behind, and learning to read droppings, damage, noises and timing will help you decide what you are dealing with and what to do next.

We use professional treatments applied carefully to surfaces and edges, and we tell you what to expect before we start. If you have particularly delicate or valuable flooring or rugs, point them out and we will plan around them.
Pets and people usually need to stay out of treated rooms until the surfaces are dry and the room has been ventilated. We give you exact advice on the day, depending on the product used and the layout of your home.
